There seems to be a lot of Resident Evil themed games in the works. The most recent release of Resident Evil 0 HD remaster has sparked interest back in the franchise. Now, we set out sights towards a more action-based third person shooter from the Capcom camp. The tie in titled Umbrella Corps will now be launched come May 2016 with a price-point of $29.99.
With the announcement for the launch window and pricing, there also comes updates in some of the modes and items you can expect in-game. One of them being the One Life Match mode explained here:
In the One Life Match mode, players must achieve their main objective to take down the other team without any option to re-spawn. One life per round is all a player gets as they must not only face the enemy team but also contend with classic Resident Evil enemies such as zombies that populate each map. Though these can be added threats, they can also be used to a player’s advantage if strategically used to hinder the other team.–Capcom
Aligning with the third-person cover style, the game also brings along with it some assets that accompany this style of play.
For example, there is the introduction of the “Brainer” that delivers the sense that it will be used as a highly effective melee hatchet into an opponents melon. Other items, like the Tactical Shield, can block the biohazards the flood any close quarter interaction. There are other items geared more towards the defensive such as the Terrain Spikes and Zombie Jammer, both ensuring traps and strategy are deployed in order to be crowned the victor.
The Resident Evil themed Umbrella Corps will be launching May 2016 on PC and PlayStation 4. The game will run you $29.99 and is available digital only.
