Update: As it turns out the orginal source, GamerSyndrome, were not speaking with a Bioware official so none of it should be taken seriously. The community manager at Bioware, Tully Ackland confirmed this via Twitter. Ackland said: “Just want to make it clear as I’ve had a few questions. Any rumours of release dates for our next Mass Effect project are completely false.” I will leave the original post below for any who want to read it regardless.
The next Mass Effect game appears to be quite a way off as an unnamed employee has stated that the next entry is aiming for a 2014-2015 launch window. Given the target date, it’s also pretty likely the next entry will be aiming for Microsoft and Sony’s next generation systems.
Kotaku writes:
“Hope you weren’t expecting to jump right back into the Mass Effect universe, fans, because according to an interview with Gamer Syndrome, the next big entry in the series won’t be out until “late 2014 to mid-2015”.
Why so long? Well, according to the unnamed BioWare employee “I honestly can’t tell you an exact [date] because full development on the game started a month or two ago.”
